Getting Started

1. Install Locus on an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later.
2. Open Help → Getting Started if setup does not open automatically.
3. Choose a documents/research, coding, or recurring-Agent path, connect a model, and choose a workspace.
4. Select Run first task when you are ready. Setup reuses your existing connections and workspaces.
5. Review the finished response and its saved file in Library → Outputs.

Getting Started opens once when the main window is ready. You can go back or postpone it while keeping setup progress. Connection and task errors can be retried. Setup records success only when the first task finishes and its output has been saved.

Local Ollama is the default. A ChatGPT-plan account and an API-key account are separate routes; selecting one does not silently fall back to the other.

For your own project, follow Your First Workspace. Start with Ask every time permissions while you learn how file and command approvals work.
